Break Free From Your Past: Dr. Maté on Authenticity as the Antidote to Trauma #gabormate #trauma #traumahealing #authenticity
Break Free From Your Past: Dr. Maté on Authenticity as the Antidote to Trauma. In his insightful exploration of trauma healing, Dr. Gabor Maté delves into the power of authenticity. He argues that the inauthenticity we often adopt to navigate difficult childhood experiences can leave lasting scars. Suppressing our true selves to fit in with a dysfunctional family or environment can lead to a disconnect from our emotions. This disconnect can manifest later in life as anxiety, depression, or difficulty in relationships. However, Dr. Maté offers a path to healing through reconnecting with our authentic selves. By embracing our true feelings and experiences, we can begin to dismantle the emotional armor that was built for survival but now hinders our growth. This journey of authenticity becomes a form of self-compassion, allowing us to understand and heal from the wounds of the past.
Why ‘inside serene’? The idea of ‘inside’ is to navigate and dig deeper into what can human change to accumulate serendipity of thoughts that will help us mentally sync to a healthier, better and more in control of our thoughts.
Being mentally fit means having the skills to handle stress, think clearly and make good decisions, communicate effectively, and regulate one's emotions in appropriate ways.
Let us join together on how to become responsible and highly engaged in building a community of good people. There are many ways to improve and maintain mental fitness, such as getting regular exercise, practising mindfulness, and seeking support from others. Inside Serene's goal is to build a community of mental support regardless of your colour or religion. We are ONE!
Practising self-care and self-love enables us to give back and love others. I need your support to clean our social environment of toxic people and become a more responsible content creator.
The power of words to control our emotions can be therapeutic to our mental health;
✅ “I'm here for you.”
✅ “You are not alone.”
✅ “You are worthy and deserving.”
✅ “You don't have to apologize.”
✅ “There is treatment available to you…”
✅ “You are strong!.”
" We must be willing to encounter darkness and despair when they come up and face them, over and over again if need be, without running away or numbing ourselves in the thousands of ways we conjure up to avoid the unavoidable". - By Jon Kabat-Zinn

    Forever grateful for Dr.Gabors knowledgeable ❤heart ! His empathy outwardly shows what a fabulous Doctor he is! I have learned so much! His book is amazing ! My daughter suffers from fibromyalgia, dysautonimia, pancreatic cancer survivor, and so much more and she is brilliant! She is successful, educated, funny, and beautiful, and she is suffering! I feel helpless, though I too have a healthy background medically and we are never giving up! One thing I clearly acknowledged and still do, is her stress ! He is correct, in that our emotions show up on our physical being ! I am now working on physically getting closer to her so that we can emotionally be in a state of happiness. I will never give up! Dr.G! Ty for giving me hope and heart to help my baby girl! Are you ever in California speaking ? I just bought your book for my daughter! 🎉❤😊 much respect!

    These videos get on my Telemeres 😅Ok we got the picture. Trauma and stress messes up our bodies, and the tele-meres become like frayed shoe laces and we get sick with cancer etc. I would like a doctor to actually DO more and talk less. I would like dr. Mate and others to spend more time treating and heeling people. Or researching and experimenting with new treatments.. You’ve been saying that trauma makes people sick for ages… This message could be said in one breath so say it once and get to work please. Real work. We respect the doctors who do the hard work. Even when they fail us we respect them knowing that they put in the long hours and the sweat and did their best.

    Even under normal conditions, holding on to your children is a bad idea. You're supposed to set them free. Besides once they turn 18, you're no longer obligated to look after them, so release them! Dr. Mate is brilliant, and his message is life-saving, but if you look at the interaction around 55:18, you can see his visible disappointment when the woman doctor informs him that, in fact, they do talk about Trauma at her medical school nowadays. So it's one thing to believe wholeheartedly in your philosophy, but another to ignore positive information because it doesn't jive with your critical assessment of present society. We're all human beings, doing the best we can, and medical personnel are not evil simply because they haven't been introduced to some of these ideas. And no, I'm not a nurse or doctor.
